The
Mill
Spendorlux®
cast coated colored and embossed papers are manufactured
by Cartiera Fedrigoni, a family owned company headquartered
in Verona Italy. For over five generations, the Fedrigoni
family has been involved in the paper and textile industries,
and today Cartiera Fedrigoni is recognized as one of the
world's foremost manufacturers of fine printing paper.
The
Process
Splendorlux is manufactured through a combination of complex
processes. First, white cast coated paper is produced,
providing the high gloss and flexible surface unique to
this type of paper. White cast coated rolls are then fed
into a rotogravure press, where the paper is printed to
the color you see. Three passes of each color ensure that
a consistent and mottle-free surface color is achieved.
Next, the printed surface is sealed with a clear wax-free
overprint varnish to add maximum protection to the sheet.
Finally, the embossed patterns are introduced onto the
surface of the paper with a special embossing process.
