VIRTUAL is manufactured by Ahlstrom at its St. Séverin mill in the village of St. Séverin, France. Headquartered in Helsinki, Ahlstrom is known for its craftsmanship and generations of experience with technology and converting fiber-based raw materials as well as its environmentally sound manufacturing practices.

The Process
VIRTUAL is a genuine vegetable parchment paper. While the process is born of an age old papermaking tradition, the paper is anything but traditional. The VIRTUAL base stock begins as an opaque paper. The base stock swiftly passes through acid baths, fusing its fibers together and creating its translucency. The transparentized paper is then washed free of all acids through multiple water baths, unleashing the exceptional aesthetic value of the acid free, translucent papers of the VIRTUAL line.
